New Chemical Management and Training Program.
OES has installed new chemical inventory and training software from On Site Systems and it is available for potential users to review. The chemical data from the previous inventory has been transferred into the new system and the material from stores should also be current. Work is continuing on the system and comments and suggestions would be appreciated.
New Employees should receive safety training to ensure they understand their responsibilities in a safe environment. The “New Employee Orientation Guide and Checklist” should be reviewed with each new employee, and a copy of the completed Orientation form sent to Office of Occupational and Environmental Safety (O.E.S. 126 Public Safety Building)
If you require assistance with Radiation Safety at LSU, try the Radiation Protection Program web page: www.radsafety.lsu.edu.
For information on the Select Agent/Toxin Program, please go to the Biological Safety link. Select Agents/Toxins are regulated by the US Department of Health and Human Services and the US Department of Agriculture. They are subject to tight controls at LSU Institutions.
